Meet our Team

We’re women sharing our real stories of life as we learn it. Life is hard. Sometimes it’s amazing, breath-taking, hilarious and funny, but let’s get real… it’s also grueling, messy, complicated and mundane. Everyone needs a little encouragement that we’re not in this alone. In the midst of the chaos, we’ve come together for a common goal to “encourage each other and build each other up.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Mandy grew up in a divorced home in a small Indiana town and was a rebellious teenager who learned life the hard way. She overcame the bad decisions and managed to graduate from Indiana University. Mandy is the founder of nextTalk (nonprofit organization) and the author of TALK: A Practical Approach to Cyberparenting and Open Communication. She has been happily married to her best friend, Matt, for 17 years. They’re raising two children in a quaint little Texas community where vehicles stop to let goats and deer cross the road. She hates coffee and is a recovering Diet Coke addict. True story. If we’re being honest, she still cheats on the Diet Coke thing. You can connect with Mandy on Facebook: @authormandymajors, Twitter: @mandymajors and follow her current blog at

Sam Davis
Sam is not superwoman, but sometimes she’d love to borrow her cape (and her boots!). Now, she sweats out the heat in San Antonio, Texas, with her amazing husband, Justin, and their three young daughters, Flynn, Reese, and Bo. Before that, she spent her childhood in Georgia, moved to Montana for high school, and returned to the South to graduate from Auburn University in Alabama (with a short stint in San Diego, California and a longer one living at the gates of Disney World in Orlando, Florida). Sam is a former elementary teacher, current stay-at-home mom, recently published author, forever Nutella lover, and she loves leading women’s groups that encourage each other. Her passion is words-reading them, writing them, and sharing them with the people she loves. And Nutella. Her passion is also Nutella.

Catherine Stamper

Catherine Stamper is wife to hunky Andrew, mom to two small people, and moonlights as an attorney (via Baylor University + University of Georgia Law – sic em!). She loves Jesus & eating messy, fun food with messy, fun people. Catherine has a hard time saying no (because c’mon, the world needs more “yes!” in it), and is known among close friends & family for her sweet pregnancy dance moves.

Bre’anna Emmitt
Bre’anna is a follower of Jesus, wife of Chris, and mom of Daniel, David and Cara. Born and raised in an Illinois farm town, she has adjusted well to the Texan life – even adapting her language to include the rampant use of the word “y’all.” She does not, however, use the phrase “fixin’ to,” much to her husband’s dismay. Bre’anna is a stay-at-home mom and considers it a great privilege to lead a small group of high school girls and minister alongside her husband at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas.

Brittany Schroder

Life has thrown quite a bit at Brittany, but she wouldn’t change a thing because as trite as it may sound, it has made her who she is today. She considers comedy the greatest art form, is a history nerd, loves people watching and is partial to the strange and goofy among us. She can’t live without tea; glorious, glorious hot tea, brewing a cup several times a day in her faithful travel mug. She has been married since 2004 to a boy she met in high school history class, and after eight years in the post-college, full-time work force, is now a full-time mom to two gorgeous little  boys, a homemaker, and volunteers when she can. Her family calls San Antonio, Texas and Community Bible Church home.

Cassidy Doolittle
Cassidy grew up the oldest of three sisters on an Illinois apple orchard then trekked to Chicago for a BSN and some gray hair from Trinity Christian College.    While working as a psychiatric nurse, she attended writing school at The Institute of Children’s Literature then transplanted to Fort Worth, Texas and has been sweating ever since.  Wife of one, mom of two, she enjoys (most) days as a freelance writer and boy-mama.   She’s not above old grilled cheese crusts and stale goldfish, but has coffee-snobbery in her blood.  Dark java and orange scones with funny friends make her world go ’round.

Denisse Warshak

Denisse grew up in the south Texas border town of Mission, where she met her best friend and future husband, Ian. After going to college at Texas A&M University, she and Ian were married and moved to San Antonio, where she worked as a preschool special education teacher. She loved her job, but decided her heart was at home after having her first baby. Two more children and twelve years later, she still loves being married to Ian and being a stay-at-home mom to their three kids. Denisse loves coffee and taking naps. She writes at

Katy Fulkerson

Katy Fulkerson is an actress and public speaker, which might explain why she always got in trouble for talking too much!  She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas (where folks know what picante sauce should taste like!)  Recently, despite the threat of higher humidity and bad hair days, Katy and her family transplanted to Houston.  She is a graduate of Baylor University (Sic ’em Bears!)  Although much of her life has been spent in Texas, she has also lived in Los Angeles and Germany, and loves to share stories about her adventures.  Katy is especially proud of her nutty little family which includes her hot, hilarious, motorcycle ridin’ hubby, and her two creatively brilliant, beautiful daughters.  Rarely will she turn down a great cup of coffee, especially when accompanied by laughter and great conversation!  To learn more about Katy, visit her website:

Mary Beth Meyer
Mary Beth lives in the Chicago area with her husband Joshua and daughters Hannah and Eden. She is an always on the go stay-at-home mom who enjoys writing, catching up with friends, traveling and a new outfit. She loves adventure and can often be found daydreaming about the next family getaway. She also considers herself a budding “foodie” and loves taking her family to try new restaurants. She grew up in a Christian family, grew in her faith as an adult, and is now actively involved in her local church.

Creative Team

Jennifer Evanoff, Photographer
Jennifer was raised in a small town in Northwest Montana. The daughter of a carpenter/pastor and a stay-at-home mom, she learned the values of wholesome living early on. When she was little, she wanted to grow up to be a wife and mother. God blessed her socks off with just that! Married to the cutest guy west of the Mississippi, she and Seth are going on 18 years. They have two gorgeous teenagers, Morgan and Hudson. Family time is key, and they try to spend as much time together as possible in this crazy world. Jen has been photographing who people are for 15 years. Photography became a part of her life at an early age when she wanted to capture everything so she could always remember it. Being a self-taught photographer, she feels blessed with the gifts God has given her. In her down time she loves to drink tea while watching Pride and Prejudice, hang with her kids and their friends, and date Seth. She also loves being outside as much as possible and playing with her black standard poodle, Izzy. You can connect with Jennifer at

Samantha Sloan, Photographer
Samantha is a creative spirit who enjoys all things crafty and beautiful. She is a self-taught photographer who enjoys sharing her art with others. She is married to the most patient man in the whole world who also happens to be her high school sweetheart. Samantha wishes to one day travel the world with her lifelong love, but until then serves as boymom to her beautiful sons, Matthew and Michael. Her likes include coffee (lots), a good conversation, cheeseburgers, scented candles and those who are not afraid to tell it like it is.
